VTS
Veterans Transition Support (VTS) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in San Diego County, California, founded in 2014 to help veterans, active duty service members, reservists, National Guard members, and military spouses transition into civilian careers. They host free and low-cost certification classes, career workshops, networking events, and resource briefings aimed at helping participants build confidence and move into meaningful civilian jobs.
Our Project
VTS's biggest challenge is that participants must repeatedly re-enter the same personal, military, education, certification, and employment information every time they register for a workshop, apply for an opportunity, or request a service. Our solution is a centralized participant portal where each person creates one account and maintains one reusable profile. This is also tied to their reporting needs, since demonstrating impact to donors, grantors, and their board is a priority and they want to avoid double-counting participants who attend multiple programs. We will also be building an automated job matching board based on applicant experience and military certifications.
