Trap Garden’s mission is to uplift food-insecure communities by creating and supporting community gardens and promoting healthy eating. They believe that community gardens serve not only to increase availability and access to healthy foods, but also as safe spaces for community interaction, empowerment and nutritional education for the public.
A mobile application that empowers beginners to build their own gardens. Starting community gardens from scratch require significant financial resources, spatial availability, gardening knowledge, among other factors, which pose a significant barrier to beginner gardeners. This project will enable gardeners to access garden-maintenance resources (seasonal planting guide, notifications, tracking system for garden tasks such as watering and weeding), empowering more individuals and small organizations like schools alike to start their own community gardens.
