The Immigration Justice Project (IJP) provides pro bono legal services to those in active immigration proceedings in San Diego, who do not have the right to government-funded counsel (by Section 292 of the Immigration and Nationality Act).
The project is building a web portal for pro-bono attorneys and volunteers (translators) to be matched to active cases being handled by the IJP. Attorneys and volunteers will use the portal to browse through cases and indicate their interest, and IJP administrators will create and delete cases, and assign interested attorneys and volunteers to them. The portal will also handle onboarding the attorneys and volunteers, which includes signing confidentiality forms and agreements, scheduling interviews, and training with LegalServer.
